It doesn't matter if you've ever done the "Crime Wave" questline. No, it comes up depending on your conversation with Varel when you ask for other ways of finding out which nobles are plotting against you. I figured it's unlikely to be coincidental. Is this Dark Wolf option only available when you have done the "Crime Wave" quest from the first game? I ask because this is the first time this series of responses have come up from Varnel, and this is the only imported character I've used that has finished the "Crime Wave" quest, in which Slim calls you "Dark Wolf".
